Mizu is a great spot to catch up with some friends over sushi, and equally nice for a date or family outing. Food - Sushi itself is pretty standard I suppose, but here they put a spin on things like scallops on top of rolls, such as in the Rainbow Blossom Roll ($16) I had which I chose from looking at Yelp photos. ;) Ambiance - Sleek, clean, good noise level, lots of blue hues. Yeah. Pretty good spot and I would be interested in coming back to try some new sushi rolls!

I was beyond amazed at how great everything was! I came for dinner (7:30 ish) and was seated in a timely manner (party of 7). Had a fantastic waiter named Jayden, super nice and attentive. We ordered: the Spicy Crunch Roll (yum), Rainbow Blossom Roll (amazing), Green Dragon Roll (great), Popcorn Lobster Roll (delicious), Chicken Teriyaki (ok), and the Almond Chicken (excellent)! My first time here was PHENOMENAL and I can not wait to come back!

I'm usually here for big birthday parties, the 3-4 times I have been here- it's been pretty slow service & the food took forever to come out. The other night, another friend of mines made a reservation for this place again- I dreaded the thought of waiting 30 minutes and being hungry! Anyways anticipated for the worst and probably received the total opposite.. The food is pricier than most places, but most of their sushi, sashimi, appetizers, and rolls were really good. This time we received great service, refills, and constant waiters looking to see if we needed anything else, taking away empty plates, refilling our alcohol orders and all the sushi actually came out in a timely manner. Especially for 16 of us- that is a lot of feed and they definitely covered all their bases that night!!

+ restaurant decor + the food was great. The sashimi and fish sushi looked very fresh - at least it didn't taste slimy or old. It beats the fish at a lot the sushi houses around here ! + very clean. I looked over at the sushi chefs several times and they

To satisfy a hankering for sushi, we made our way to Mizu. Unfortunately, we left unsatisfied. ***MISO SOUP Quite possibly the saltiest miso I've ever tasted. Pretty generic flavor, nothing artsy here. ***RAINBOW BLOSSOM ROLL - real crab, cucumber, avocado, gobo, tuna, salmon, breaded bay scallop on top spicy mayo and unagi sauce This roll was recommended by our server as the most popular--after all, anything topped with bay scallops can't be that bad, right? Wrong. "These are not scallops", I exclaimed, "but chicken nuggets!", in fact the cheapo kind with the soggy freezer-burn breading, the Grade F variety served at low-income elementary school cafeterias. Topped with a sickeningly sweet mayo, a revolting addition. The roll itself would have been painfully boring with its thin exterior strips of slightly dry, flavorless salmon & tuna, yet the "real crab" that it was stuffed with tasted cheap and imitation, overpowering any potential fish contributions. ***YAMI YAMI ROLL - wasabi mayo, spicy mayo, deep-fried yellowtail roll, topped with tuna, salmon, scallop mixed with spicy sauce, eel sauce, tobiko, green onion Allegedly the second most popular roll. I'm not sure what 'Yami Yami' means, but I'm guessing not 'yummy'. This must be the final resting spot for all of the refuse fish strips discarded from the other rolls. Once again, topped with this awful yellow syrupy mayonnaise that is likely used to mask any unpleasant fish odors. The fried roll itself was rather innocuous, but sadly unmemorable, and basically each section fell apart upon contact with the chopsticks. ALL IN ALL: I'm not a sushi purist in the sense that I can't appreciate non-traditional presentations, ingredients, & sauces, or even Anglo-friendly fried rolls or cream cheese. Bring on the ingenuity, but the quality of ingredients, artistically sensible combinations, and presentation are paramount, and in these areas Mizu has failed.

I drove by a few times and didn't think much of it other than it looked a bit casual. However when I went in it looked very modern and I was created by three hosts. Once I rounded the corner I saw why there was three hosts. It was packed. The menu was great and had tons of options. The sushi was dynamite. My salad was good except for the wilted red leaf in the mix. I've admit. I'm also crazy about hot sake. We WILL be back.

Trying to figure out a new place for date night, the bf suggested we try this spot out. I'm assuming this is the place to be for date nights since it was packed when we got there on a Friday night. After taking some sake bombs in the bar area, we were definitely feeling good when we were sat at the sushi bar. Since we were starvin' Marvins we ended up getting some gyoza along with a couple of sushi rolls. All of the food was definitely on point. I'm super picky when it comes to my sushi and Mizu definitely was able to meet my expectations. Though this place can get a little pricey with multiple orders and drinks, it is definitely worth it. Overall, if you're on the hunt for some good sushi in a great atmosphere then this is the place for you.

Great sushi place! The calamari appetizer was the best calamari I've ever had. It was not chewy at all and I could tell it was very fresh. We ordered the blossom rainbow roll and the butterfly roll. Both were excellent! They used real crab in their rolls which is nice because most places use imitation crab. Prices were decent for the awesome atmosphere and excellent quality of food. I will definitely come back!
